The new fashion season is upon us – a wonderful reason to visit KAMERS/Makers Joburg and find those unique items to add to your wardrobe this summer. We’ve picked out 7 of the fashion finds we just can’t wait to get our hands on during the show between 28 September to 2 October.
#1 Truly sexy socks
Not just for guys anymore, everyone needs a pair of these babies. If not for the fact that this bright and varied range of socks is made from eco-friendly bamboo fibre, then certainly because for every pair of Sexy Socks bought, a pair of school socks is donated to school kids in need. We love the Sexy Potters design in particular, but you can choose from a vast range of colours and designs – much of which will be at KAMERS/Makers in Sandton! As they say, “people are starting to realise that having a little outrageous in your shoes is actually rather cool.”
#2 Unique silver jewellery from Foundri
Organic shapes in sterling silver is what makes Foundri’s creations special. The collective occasionally uses precious stones such as garnet or mixes up the metals, but it’s always with that asymmetrical signature. We’re particularly fond of this pendant made from sterling silver with a garnet set in the center and the unbelievable fiery sapphire ring.
#3 Summer prints
Local ready-to-wear fashion designer Michelle Ludek will be showcasing some of her outstanding summer designs too. With a strong background in fashion, as well as a passion for creating wearable items that complement a woman’s figure, you’re guaranteed to find a piece that speaks to you.
#4 A tote with a difference
If you’re as choosy about your handbags as we are, then make sure to check out Stonecamp’s hand-crafted and stylish creations. The Shopper is our absolute favourite – coming in a range of vibrant colours, it’s one that will fit everything and the kitchen sink… as a good handbag should!
#5 One-of-a-kind swimwear
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: locally crafted swimsuits are what will truly make this summer something special. Designs from Temple of Reason men’s swimwear are the result of collaborations with local designers, while Promenade updates vintage swimwear designs for a classic and comfortable option.
#6 Alternative jewellery from Iloni

If simplicity is what you’re after in your accessories then look out for Iloni at the show. Jewellery designer and founder Madri van Zyl likes to use alternative materials in her designs to create truly unique pieces. We adore this original neck piece stacked together, made from silicone and brass.
#7 Easy summer sleepwear
Claudia Moruzzi is on a mission to make sure everyone sleeps beautifully. Inspired by old-world romance, her range of sleep- and lounge-leisure-wear is designed to let you feel instantly free and relaxed. We’re in love with the whole collection, and in particular, the Amy Kimono with its elegant red botanical print and the Michelle Night Dress.
