In celebration of Women’s Day we are featuring stories from seven diverse, strong women, all inspiring our team in their own unique way. We asked these ladies what it means to be a woman, as well as their take on being a business woman.
Michelle Ludek, fashion designer behind Michelle Ludek Designs and popular KAMERS Maker, shares her story:
After becoming a mother my commitment to being a mom became the most important focus in my life. I love fashion and designing brings me great joy as well as the opportunity to travel. The role of a working mother has to be one of the toughest to juggle and succeed in. Every working mother has to deal with moments of guilt, but I hope that my children will be inspired by my hard work, commitment and dedication to their wellbeing. I am able to be present and available for cake sales, hockey matches, doing school runs and being home when they are ill. I always strive to be the strong, kind and inspiring woman my mother is.
I am fortunate in that I love what I do and essentially have created my own dream job. On a day to day basis, I get to meet many incredible, driven women with varying career objectives and it is rewarding to know that I am able in some small way, when they are wearing my designs, to be a part of their successes. The desire to succeed and be respected in business is important as well as promoting trust and brand integrity.
