KAMERS/Makers Partners with Consol Glass

Spring sees KAMERS/Makers welcome Consol Glass as an official headline partner.

KAMERS/Makers is on a mission to reduce the environmental footprint of our artisan ‘up’-markets. What began as a test project with Consol Glass to assist in removing plastics from our five annual shows has proved to be a perfect match and we now welcome Consol Glass as the official KAMERS/Makers headline sponsor.

Consol Glass will unveil their new pop-up shop at our Joburg spring event at St John’s College from 28 August to 1 September and this will be an ongoing feature at our summer events in Stellenbosch and Pretoria.

KAMERS/Makers market visitors can also look forward to more Consol Glass giveaways. For example, at the Stellenbosch event we will give away a limited edition Consol Grip & Go bottle to raise breast cancer awareness.

The hugely popular Consol Curvy Glass bottle giveaway will continue, with every visitor receiving a free Curvy bottle, which they can then fill with pure, filtered water as often as they wish, removing the need for any single-use plastic bottles on site.

This initiative has been so successful that we have already dispensed over 30,000 litres of water at our shows – which means a staggering 100,000 plastic 330ml bottles have been prevented from landing at SA landfills! Consol Glass’ passion for glass and commitment to environmental sustainability has inspired the initiative – proving that the best things really do come in glass.

Excitingly, many of our Makers who use glass are now in creative discussions with Consol Glass about artisanal collaborations. Our next step is for Consol Glass to replace ALL plastic cups at future KAMERS/Makers shows … finally achieving our dream of a ZERO plastic catering impact at our events.
